How Many Kippahs to Order for a Wedding

Matching kippahs at the chuppah are one of the most photographed details of a Jewish wedding — and one of the easiest to under-order. Here’s a simple way to land on the right number and the right imprint.

The formula

Start with your guest count, estimate the share who’ll wear a kippah, and add spares. A safe rule is to order for your full guest count: extras fill the kippah basket at the ceremony and become keepsakes guests take home.

GuestsSuggested orderNotes
50–100100Round up; the basket empties fast
100–200200Covers ceremony and reception
200+Guest count + 20–25%Spares for walk-ins and keepsakes

What to imprint

The standard is both first names and the wedding date in gold or silver foil, often with a small motif or monogram. Pick a satin or suede color that matches your palette and a contrasting foil so the imprint stands out in photos.

Don’t forget the wedding party

Some couples order a small set of suede kippahs for the immediate family and wedding party in a different color, with satin for guests. It’s a subtle touch that reads beautifully in the chuppah photos.

Choosing for your order

Lock your names, date, and colors with a free mockup, then confirm quantity. Standard production is about three weeks, so order at least a month before the wedding — and tell us if your date is sooner so we can rush it.

Ready to start? Send the names, the date, and a target quantity. We’ll send a free mockup and a quote within one business day. Not sure where to begin? Read about how we work or browse more guides.

Key takeaway

Order for your full guest count (or +20–25% for large weddings), imprint both names and the date in foil, and consider a premium suede set for the wedding party.
